3,14BAN in Sweden: Opening New Horizons for Ukrainian Upcycling
3,14BAN took part in an international study visit to Borås, Sweden — one of Europe’s leading centers for textile innovation.
For several days, participants worked in the University of Borås laboratories of weaving, knitting, and textile recycling. This is a place where traditional techniques merge with scientific research and cutting-edge technologies, where fashion becomes part of the global sustainability strategy.
For 3,14BAN, one of the most valuable aspects was the opportunity to strengthen professional connections. We met with Tetiana Pushkarova from Reinventex, with whom we are already discussing ideas for joint projects.
During the visit, we explored the key challenges faced by the textile industry in both Ukraine and Europe. Brainstorming sessions revealed that many of these challenges are similar — meaning solutions can be found together, through partnerships, innovation, and knowledge exchange.
This experience confirmed that Ukrainian upcycling has a voice on the international stage. For our brand, it is another step towards joining the global discussion on sustainable fashion, expanding partnerships, and making banner-based and other upcycled products more recognizable worldwide.
Participation in the study visit was made possible thanks to the invitation from Innovation Generation UA within the TEX4YUA project – Sustainable Excellence of Ukrainian Youth in Textile and Apparel Industry, supported by the SI Baltic Sea Neighbourhood Programme.
